I, Laura Moss, captain on MY “Shapama” found two yeas ago a very interesting product on the market which has the ability to change the functionality of our diesel driven engines. Disposal of old Oil and Filters was always a big job and very expensive. Micfil International invented an Ultra- Fine Filter with less then 0.5 micron and Fuel Filter system which includes a magnetic system on the injectors and fuel lines. This system improves lubrication with less – much less – wear and without oil changes. Additional it gives you less fuel consumption and much less smoke through clean and magnetized fuel. Over all the running costs are lower, the engine healthier and it eliminates routine oil changes.

The Micfil Technology system is a known system on river ships in Germany. The ships are running day and night. Before installing the Micfil Technology the river ships had to change their oil about every 500hrs (about every 21 days), which equals about 300 to 600 litres of oil every time and get rid of the old one, a very costly business. It is also used in companies with large fleets of trucks and in the mining industry. It keeps the running cost lower and engines healthy. They said it doubles their operation time on trucks and hydraulic driven equipment.

After all this positive Feedback and Information Two three years ago I decided to install the Micfill Technology system on our yacht. We have two Nothernlights 70KW/45kw generators, two Cats 3412 main engines, Gearboxes and Hydraulic systems. I installed in all engines the same ultra-Fine filters for oil and diesel and the fuel optimizer for diesel and/or biodiesel and hHydraulic systems. In the Diesel System there is as well a water separator. . As a result we never had and have to change the oil anymore, because of better oil quality through the Ultra-Fine Filters. Tests have shown that the oil gets better and better for the engine as longer you use it. We know have less smoke and emissions test results from have shown Injectors looking like new after 3200 engine hrs. saves me a lot of money At the top of this we use about 5% less fuel.

As captain,/engeener, I find it very important to start with environmental protection on my yacht without waiting for the politics to make it better. We are working in the yachting industry, talking about nature and what we could and should do. The Micfil Technology is a step we can do and change our behaviour to the environment.
