micfil ultra fine filter systems on the steam turbine of the paper mill

The installation of a micfil filtration system at Natron Hayat paper mill steam turbine.

The Challenge

Triveni steam turbine with 12.000 litres of hydraulic oil after 5 years of use due to oil analyse needed replacement with new hydraulic oil.

Instead of buying new oil customer decided to install micfil filtration system (which take out all particles bigger then 0,5 microns and remove all water content in hydraulic oil).
micfil filtration system clean and filtrate oil continuously in bypass. That means no need to stop turbine or to take out oil from tank for cleaning.

With micfil filtration all oil was cleaned below ISO 4406 stardard (better than new oil) and that fact enable customer to use same oil for no limited time in the future.

Savings which customer achieved was enormous.

• Here is a list of savings:
• No need to buy new oil
• No need to pay the costs of taking care for old, used oil.
• No conventional oil changes in the future are needed.
• Prolonged life span of equipment and lower maintenance costs due to the fact that turbine will work now all the time at excellent oil condition.

The outcome:

micfil filtration system cost much less than 50% of the price of new oil.

Additionally oil has never need to be replaced again if inserts of micfil filters are exchanged regularly.

Beside that costs of spare parts and reparation are decreased due to fact that turbine is working in excellent lubrication conditions.
