Capibara (Captain W. Danser, Netherlands)

Hello dear readers,

We have equipped our ship Capibara with a MaK 6MU 452 AK main engine.

In September 2011 we installed 3 micfil ultra fine filters.
The engine oil already had 2700 operating hours in the machine.

We then used the oil for 3100 hours and then changed the engine oil.
Normally we always changed oil after 3000 operating hours.
The oil analysis was good, but I wanted fresh oil in the engine and see how long it stays good.

Since then the main engine has had 6000 operating hours and the oil analysis is still in very good condition.

Before we installed the micfil ultra fine filters, we always had coal deposits in the oil analysis and after the installation the values always remained normal.
